We are a charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and support services to refugees around the world. Our mission is to address the immediate and ongoing needs of displaced individuals and families, protect and promote their fundamental rights, and help create pathways toward safety, stability, dignity, and self-sufficiency.

East African Seniors Connection Program – Ottawa and Beyond
Building Community, Reducing Isolation
Many East African seniors in Ottawa face deep social isolation due to language barriers, cultural differences, and limited access to community support systems. At Refugee Partners and Helpers, we are committed to changing that.

The East African Seniors Connection Program is a community-driven initiative designed to bring seniors together, foster meaningful relationships, and create a sense of belonging.

HOW WE HELP
No one should have to rebuild their life alone.
RPH is committed to welcoming asylum seekers and refugees with dignity, compassion, and practical support. We work alongside individuals and families to help them move from uncertainty toward safety, stability, and independence.
We Provide Practical Support
We help newcomers access essential items and services, including food, clothing, household necessities, transportation assistance, and other basic needs.

Starting a new life in Canada can be challenging for asylum seekers and refugees. Many arrive after experiencing conflict, persecution, violence, or displacement, often leaving behind their homes, families, careers, and communities. Once in Canada, they face a new set of challenges as they work to rebuild their lives and become part of their new communities.

Asylum seekers and refugees arrive in Canada seeking safety, stability, and a chance to rebuild their lives. However, starting over in a new country can bring significant challenges.

Our Goal
Our goal is not simply to provide short-term assistance. We want to help asylum seekers and refugees build secure, independent, and fulfilling lives in Canada and around the world.

With the support of compassionate volunteers, donors, community partners, and local organizations, we can help newcomers overcome immediate challenges while building the skills, connections, and confidence they need for the future.

Together, we can turn a difficult new beginning into an opportunity for hope, belonging, and a brighter future.
Help Us Make a Difference
Your support can provide a newcomer with a warm meal, essential clothing, transportation, settlement assistance, language support, or a connection to someone who can help.

Every act of kindness helps someone feel that they are not alone.
We Support Newcomers as They Settle
From understanding how local services work to connecting with schools, healthcare, community programs, and government resources, we help newcomers navigate life in Canada with greater confidence.
We Help Build Employment Opportunities
We connect newcomers with employment resources, job-search assistance, skills development, and community networks that can help them move toward financial independence.
We Connect People to Professional Services
When specialized assistance is needed, we help connect asylum seekers and refugees with appropriate legal, healthcare, settlement, and social-service providers.
We Build Community
Perhaps most importantly, we help newcomers feel welcomed and valued. Through volunteers, community activities, mentorship, and social connections, we create opportunities for newcomers to build friendships, develop support networks, and participate in their communities.
We Help with Housing
We assist individuals and families in navigating the housing system, identifying available resources, and connecting with community organizations and services that can help them find safe and stable accommodation.
